Applus+ AutoLogic Inc. manufactures smoke meters that meet or exceed SAEJ1667 and several other worldwide standards.  They have large easy to read displays and excellent diagnostic screens. They are available in both a complete configuration and in modules for OEM integration.

Applus+ AutoLogic Inc. has two different smoke meters that are widely used for testing and diagnosing diesel engines for opacity levels. The J1667 packages include a meter that sits at the end of the stack of a heavy-duty vehicle and is designed to meet US and Canadian SAE J1667 specifications. The MOT packages include a partial flow smoke meter that is designed to meet European specifications for testing light duty vehicles.
