Distributors and OEMS - Fast Start Designs
Applus+ AutoLogic Inc. works with distributors and OEMs world wide to provide equipment for diagnostics and certified emissions, OBD II, and safety testing programs. We often provide equipment at reduced costs by licensing many of the components of the design to the customer for local purchase and manufacture. This reduces the costs greatly and allows the distributor to be much more cost effective when they otherwise could not be. It also enables the distributor or OEM to brand the equipment with their own name. We have experience in many certified inspections programs and international inspection lanes in the US and outside of the US. We can often help distributors with information needed to enter a certified program.
PC Hardware Configurations
There are many possible choices of diagnostic hardware that may be used in an OEM product or certified testing program. Attached below is an example of all the hardware designs / vendor selections that a distributor or OEM looking to enter a vehicle inspection program may use. Because we also have software drivers, DLLS, and OCXs that are compatible with the hardware listed, working with us to license the designs will greatly reduce the amount of development time necessary to get into an emissions, safety or OBD II testing program.
PC Software Configurations
Each one of these hardware pieces take advantage of Applus+ AutoLogic's existing software designs that interface to the hardware and conduct the appropriate tests. Applus+ AutoLogic's basic design consists of a series of modules (Dlls) that perform the actual tests and an executable program which implements the local government requirements such as printing, databases, vehicle inputs, modem communications, etc. These modules are designed with international language translation capabilities and are designed to be easily OEM branded. The OCX controls shown are the software modules that communicate from the test DLL to the hardware. The use of these code modules will significantly reduce the overall effort and time frame necessary to complete almost any mandated testing program. This design is easily expanded to add additional tests as required. These code modules (Dlls) may require modification to meet local requirements. We often license just certain modules to OEMS looking to reduce their development time when they are already producing certified equipment and simply need another new piece of hardware.The diagram on the page below demonstrates the software components that are available. Other components may be added on a custom basis.
