The training / Demo mode is a great start to using a gas analyzer as all gas analyzer functions may be performed in a training mode using the hand held thus making 5 gas concepts easy for training in the whole shop.

Immediately after turning on Pocket Gas, emissions readings are displayed. With a quick warm up time there is little wait and emissions diagnostics have begun with just one click. The digital display is configurable with anywhere from 1 to 6 meters shown on the screen at once for better viewing at a distance. Simply pressing the screen anywhere begins recording data and pressing again stops recording data. This makes for efficient use when using the gas analyzer in the vehicle while driving and measuring emissions. One touch with the finger and data recording starts. This allows the user to focus on driving yet take readings under the right conditions.

Pocket Gas provides quick access with one click to a real time of graph of the vehicles gases. This screen can be used to analyze relations between the different gases on the engine. Again this screen supports one touch data recording. The gas analyzer allows air fuel ratio and Lambda to be displayed at the same time.

Pocket Gas utilizes the extensive Microsoft Access database capabilities of the Pocket PC to record the customer and vehicle information as the vehicle is tested. The data from the diagnostic screens will automatically be tied to the customer and vehicle selected.

The diagnostic data can be recalled at any time by simply selecting the right customer, vehicle and date and time of test. This makes for easy comparison from vehicle to vehicle. It also enables the technicians to record the vehicle emissions before repairs and then compare it to the vehicle emissions after repairs. This can be done on many cars simultaneously.

 

All gas analyzers eventually need calibration and the Pocket Gas calibration screen demonstrates why Its a great tool for the professional garage. Calibrations can be done quickly and easily right from your Pocket PC with clear on screen instructions. Its great not to have to refer to the manual when you need to perform routine maintenance. Pocket Gas allows you to enter the Calibration bottle values so its more flexible for the possible values of Calibration gas to be used.

Pocket Gas supports fast switching between customers so that many cars may be worked on at once and the tool shared between repair bays. The technician can store the emissions and restore his work where he last used the gas analyzer.

Pocket Gas has generic EPA emissions standards for ASM, TSI (Two Speed Idle), and I/M 240 ? Just select a test type in the results screen and Pocket Gas will automatically compare the readings to the standards. This feature gives the professional technician a good idea if the vehicle will pass or fail the local I/M inspection test.

After you have gathered all the data needed, Pocket Gas ^TM finishes up the job by providing a professional 8.5 * 11 inch printout on a wide variety of infrared printers (available from places like Mobile Planet) . If you really need to see the gas data in more detail, it can always be downloaded to a PC using Microsoft ActiveSync and then viewed and printed from Microsoft Access or Excel.
